Bean, casserole supper planned
LEWISTON — The Calvary United Methodist Church will host a bean and casserole supper at 4:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, “on the triangle” at 59 Sabattus St.
The menu will include home-baked beans, a wide variety of casseroles, some vegetarian, and salads, hot dogs, biscuits and pies will be available.
Admission is $7.50 for adult and $3 for children younger than 12. The public is warmly invited to attend. Use the garden entrance on Bartlett St.
Calvary has been doing these suppers for many years, and is well-known for its delicious food and warm hospitality.

Ski Swap is Nov. 15
AUBURN — The 52nd annual Auburn Ski Association Ski Swap will be held on from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at Auburn Middle School off Court Street on Falcon Drive offering deals and selection on new and used winter sports equipment including skis, boots, poles, snowboards, helmets, clothing and more.
To sell quality used equipment on consignment, those wishing may bring items to the Auburn Middle School cafeteria from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 14. There is a 50 cent per item charge, and ASA keeps 18 percent of the sales proceeds. Checks from the sale of your items will be available after the swap from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

CUMC hosting bean, casserole supper
LEWISTON — The Calvary United Methodist Church will host its monthly baked bean and casserole supper Saturday, Nov. 14.
Serving time will be 4:45 p.m. at the Bartlett Street Garden entrance.
Cost of the meal is $7.50 for adults and $3 for children.
The menu will include assorted baked beans, hot dogs, biscuits, casseroles (including vegetarian), salads and homemade pies.
Christmas fair planned in Lisbon
LISBON FALLS — The Lisbon United Methodist Church will hold its annual Christmas Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at 14 School St. next to the MTM Center.
The fair will include a silent auction with gifts donated by local businesses and professional teams. A Christmas treasure room will feature gently used Christmas decorations. It will be hard to resist the bake shop with its pies, cookies, breads and other delicious homemade goodies. The Candy Shoppe will feature an assortment of sweets and homemade fudge-by-the-pound. Santa’s Workshop will offer many new crafts, handmade goods and decorations for inside and outside the home.
The LUMC Diner will serve its tasty beef stew and bread or hot dogs, plus gingerbread topped with whipped cream for dessert from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Shoppers may take home an order of a Maine Saturday Special, Baked beans and bread rolls.
