1937 – 2015
LEWISTON — Gisele “Pauline” St. Pierre, 78, of Turner, died Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 10, at Central Maine Medical Center following a brief illness.
She was born in Lewiston on Feb. 18, 1937, a daughter of the late Arthur and Delia (Gagne) Pintal. She grew up in the area and attended local schools. She graduated from St. Dominic Regional High School, Class of 1956. On Nov. 18, 1961, she married Maurice St. Pierre.
She was a stay-at-home mom when her children were young. In her later years, she worked at Clover Manor and then at the Career Center until she retired.
She will be remembered for her love of animals, especially her cat, Solomon. She loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed old movies and was an avid reader. Pauline was compassionate and kind. She also had a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious laugh!
She is survived by her two children, Karen Berube and her partner, Denise Marcoux, of Auburn, Nancy Morin of Lewiston; five grandchildren, Megan Pettengill and her significant other, James, Niemi, Darcy Letourneau and her husband, Bryan, Audrey Nguyen and her husband, Huy, Steven Webster Jr., Christopher Webster and his fiancée, Laura Snyder; as well as three great-grandchildren, Trent Letourneau, Haley Cushing and Asa Justin. She also leaves behind her sister, Jeannette Boutin of Turner, with whom she was very close. She will also be missed and remembered fondly by her nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Maurice St. Pierre; her grandson, Justin Pettengill; two brothers, Gerard and Roland; and a sister, Laurette Veilleux.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the nurses on M-1 at Central Maine Medical Center, the staff of Hematology Oncology Associates and Dr. Rausch, as well as Robin Turner of Beacon Hospice for the skilled and compassionate care they gave Pauline throughout her illness.
