1941 – 2015
AUBURN — Marie Ange Mathon, 74, of Auburn, passed away peacefully, Monday, Nov. 9, at the Hospice House in Auburn, surrounded by her loving family.
Marie was born in Frenchville, on July 2, 1941, a daughter of the late Hubald and Yvonne Guimond. She was one of 19 siblings, 10 girls and nine boys. There are five surviving siblings.
Marie lived a dedicated life with her late husband as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She worked at Supreme Slipper for years and Bates Mill, where she retired from. Purple was her favorite color.
During all her years she enjoyed singing and dancing. She always had a beat going, tapping her feet, moving her hands, singing along right up until the end. She also enjoyed playing cards and puzzles. Her proudest accomplishments in her life were her children and all the grandkids.
Our mom, our memere’s face would light up any room with the biggest smile on her face. She brought us much joy and love. We will never forget the love you showed us that was always unending. We will forever miss you. You will remain in our hearts always. We deeply miss you and will forever love you.
Marie is survived by five loving children, William Mathon and wife, Sue, of Raymond, David Mathon of Auburn, Debbie Mathon of South Paris, Tammy (Mathon) Lasko and husband, Mike, of Auburn, John Mathon and wife, Melissa, of Lewiston. Marie also enjoyed and loved her nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Marie was predeceased by her only love and friend of 52 years, Paul Mathon.
