LEWISTON — The annual Twin Cities Holiday Celebration is expanding its hours, starting at noon and going to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28.
The annual event is longer by several hours this year because of a new partnership that involves the Lewiston Downtown Holiday Celebration Committee, the Auburn Business Association and the Union of Maine Visual Artists-LA.
The latter’s contributions are titled “The Festival of Art and Lights” and includes a window-decorating contest for most creative use of light, crafters at downtown businesses and carolers downtown.
The Parade of Lights will start at 6 p.m. from Park Street in Lewiston and end at Festival Plaza on Main Street in Auburn. Music, free munchies, free Santa and Mrs. Claus photos and free wagon rides are planned at the plaza.
Nov. 28 is also being recognized as Shop Local Day.
Event details are expected to be posted at DowntownLewistonAssociation.com, a website being built for the Downtown Lewiston Association.
