1953 – 2015

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Bruce Dennis Higgins, 62, of Fort Myers, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 17, at Hope Healthcare Services in Fort Myers, Fla.

He was born in Lewiston on July 18, 1953, son of Velma Lovejoy and Gordon (Bud) Higgins. He served in the U.S. Air Force.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles and was an outdoorsman. He liked home projects and puttering around.

He retired last year from Bath Iron Works, his whole work history.

He is survived by daughter, Jennifer Lee Higgins of Orlando, Fla.; sister, Marie; brothers, Donald, Gordon and Eddie; two grandsons, Daniel Richard Higgins of Panacea, Fla. and Dylan Charles Burgnon of Orlando, Fla.; and nieces and nephews; his girlfriend, Betsy Beety of Fort Myers, Fla.

He was predeceased by sister, Beverly; and brothers, Lawrence and William Buddy Higgins.

Bruce was a loving father, grandfather and friend. He will always be in our thoughts, heart and prayers.
