1931 – 2015
AUBURN — Louis J. Roy, 83, of 22 White St., Lewiston, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the Hospice House in Auburn.
He was born in Brunswick on Nov. 30, 1931, the son of Louis and Eva Rousseau Roy. A graduate of Brunswick High School, he also earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College in 1959. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On July 17, 1965, he married the former Mary M. McGloine. They lived in Brunswick, then moved to Lewiston in 1976. He worked for many years as a real estate broker and partner at Norman Roy Associates. He was an avid reader and devoted himself to improving the health of his son, who was afflicted with cystic fibrosis. He was a member of the former St. Joseph’s Parish, he attended the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Prince of Peace Parish.
Besides his loving wife of 50 years, Mary of Lewiston, he is survived by a daughter, Jane and husband, Gary Dow, of Lewiston.
He was predeceased by an infant son, Daniel; son, Matthew; and two brothers, Norman and Lionel.
