1919 – 2015
AUBURN — Hilda S. Butler, 95, of 440 Minot Ave., Auburn, died on Thursday, Nov. 26, at Clover Manor Health Care Facility, following a short illness.
She was born in Woodstock on Dec. 28, 1919, the daughter of the late Antti and Anni (Polbinen) Korhonen. She had lived in Auburn, Minot and for the past 30 years in Cundy’s Harbor.
She married Olen J. Butler on March 22, 1941; he died on Aug. 5, 1997. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 1603 of Auburn.
Hilda enjoyed spending winters in Florida and fishing at Moosehead Lake and Rangeley.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol Ann Butler and her companion, Peter Hirst, of Ft. Myers Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren, Kimberly Veilleux and her husband, Victor, of Sabattus, Josh Dumont and his wife, Angie, of Lisbon, N.H. and Rebekah Dumont and her companion, Jason Foster, of Jefferson, N.H.; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
