SABATTUS — Newly appointed Town Manager Anthony Ward presented a brief agenda to selectmen Tuesday evening.
Applications for police chief will be accepted until Dec. 11, after which they will be reviewed and qualified candidates interviewed.
Ward stepped down as chief after being named town manager.
Selectman Jeff Baril attended his last board meeting Tuesday and was given a plaque in honor of his service. Baril will continue his work as a member of the Ordinance Review Committee, the Dam Commission and trustee for the Water District.
In other business, selectmen approved a motion authorizing the treasurer and chairman of the board to sign the lease-purchase agreement for a 2016 Western Star cab and chassis dump truck. Last month, the board approved a five-year loan with Androscoggin Bank for the vehicle.
Also Tuesday, the board approved a renewal application for a liquor license and special amusement license for American Legion Post 135 at 40 Island Road.
Selectmen will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, at the Town Hall and welcome new members Guy Desjardins and J.P. Curran, who were elected in November. They succeed Baril and Don Fournier Jr.
