1960 – 2015

TURNER — Peter Richard Despres, 54, of 33 Parker Way, Turner, passed away unexpectedly at work on Tuesday, Dec. 1.

He was born on Dec. 14, 1960, in Lewiston, the son of Joe and Rita Despres. He attended Leavitt High School and the University of Maine. He married his loving and devoted wife, Carrie True, on May 14, 2001.

A lifelong resident of Turner, Pete grew up on Upper Street and enjoyed a fun-filled life on the farm. He was the frontman in the Human Impersonators, the house band at Tibbs Garage. In his adult life, he was a chef and manager at many local restaurants, including many years at Youly’s.

He was a butcher at Hannaford in Turner for the past two years. He was a hardworking, dedicated employee.

Pete had many interests and was fun to be around. He had many friends and was loved by everyone. He loved cooking and loved his two sons, Matt and Brian.

Pete is survived by his wife, Carrie of Turner; two sons, Matt and Brian of Portland; his mother, Rita Despres of Auburn; sisters, Kathy, Patt, Julie and Lisa; and brother, Jody.

He was predeceased by his father, Joe Despres.
