1937 – 2015

LEWISTON — Richard L. Langelier, 77, of 26 Fox Run Road, Lewiston, died Sunday, Dec. 6, after a long and courageous battle with heart disease.

Born in Lewiston on Dec. 16, 1937, he was the son of Paul and Yvette Roy Langelier. Educated in local schools, he was a graduate of St. Dominic High School, Class of 1956, and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Husson College in 1964.

On Dec. 30, 1961, he married the former Anita L. Roux. For many years, he worked as an accountant for the Small Business Administration in Augusta, and later at Langelier & Associates in Lewiston, retiring in 2007.

An avid golfer, he was a member of the Apple Valley Golf Course and also enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. He was a kindhearted and generous individual who was loved by all who met him. He will long be remembered for his witty sense of humor and devotion to family. He was a member of Holy Cross Church, Prince of Peace Parish.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 54 years, Anita; a son, Michael and wife, Cathie; two daughters, Pam and husband, Ron Giroux, and Lisa and husband, Michael Bisson, all of Lewiston; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer Faith and her husband, Jared, Kimberly and Ryan Guerin, Haley, Joseph and Nicholas Bisson, Abigail Langelier, Alex and Joseph Klemanski, Keith Giroux, Colby Giroux and his wife, Kate; and two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Evelyn Faith.
