LITCHFIELD — Caleb M. Byras, 17, a resident of Litchfield, passed away very unexpectedly from an automobile accident on Saturday, Dec. 5, in Union.

He was born in Augusta on May 17, 1998, the son of Matthew D. Byras and Maria Hobbs. Caleb attended schools in Litchfield and Oak Hill High School in Wales.

He enjoyed hunting, ice fishing and building things. He loved his cat, Spunk; and dog, Brindle. Caleb volunteered to help the Farmers Club at the Litchfield Fair.

Caleb is survived by his father, Matthew D. Byras of Litchfield; his mother, Maria Hobbs of Hallowell; a sister, Autumn Byras of Litchfield; a brother, Parker Dean of Hallowell; grandparents, Skeet and Jean Higgins of Litchfield, Dave Byras Jr. and his companion, Rayma Ashby, of Litchfield and Donald and Donna Hobbs of Litchfield; great-grandparents, Viola Ridley of Litchfield, David and Karen Byras of Florida and Mrs. Robert E. Hobbs of Pennsylvania; a special uncle, Jimmy Ridley of Litchfield; a very special cousin, Kayleigh Vannah of Litchfield and her parents, Donnie and Stacie Vannah; also many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his great-grandfather, Bernard “Bud” Ridley; and his great-grandmother, Marion E. Holt.
