Arsenault was born June 9, 1958, in Taunton, Mass. He was raised with one sister who lives in Taunton and cares for their mother. Arsenault went to Coyle-Cassidy High School in Taunton.
He joined the Air Force on June 25, 1976, and was honorably discharged on March 2, 1982. He served in California and Germany. Arsenault and four other men, the “five musketeers,” from Taunton, Mass., went to basic training for six weeks and eventually split up and went their own ways. He served three years in Castle, Calif., on the B-52 and KC-135 airplanes. He also served three years in Zweibrucken, Germany, on the RF-4 aircraft. While there he also participated in training sessions. He took a lot of photographs of different events going on and enjoyed seeing the world. While he was in Switzerland, one of his friends taught him how to ski.
After leaving the service, Arsenault married and had one daughter and two grandchildren.
After being discharged, he worked many odd jobs until he got into the health care field. He worked in many hospitals, including the New England Hospital in Boston and the Cardiac Unit at Mercy Hospital. He also worked in some institutions for the mentally ill and in nursing homes.
Arsenault came to the Maine Veterans’ Home in June 2013. He enjoys reading, using the computer, going on outings and talking with people one-on-one.
