1945 – 2015
AUBURN — William L. Joslyn, 70, of Bridgton, died on Saturday, Dec. 12, at the Auburn Hospice House, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Keene, N.H., on Jan. 16, 1945, a son of the late Howard and Marie Elizabeth “Betty” (Carpenter) Joslyn. He attended Keene High School before joining the U.S. Navy. He later went on to earn his GED.
William worked for many years for the Town of Bridgton Public Works Dept. He later was a truck driver with RH Legoff Excavation in Denmark.
He was very active with AA, being clean and sober for nearly 22 years himself. Bill has helped dozens of people through his sponsorship and mentoring over the years.
In his free time he was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and spending time in nature. He also enjoyed taking long drives and looked forward to getting lost to explore new places.
He is survived by his children, William Joslyn and his wife, Susan, of Winchester, N.H., Cynthia (Joslyn) Soto and her husband, Michael, of Avon, Ohio, Deborah (Joslyn) Boncal of Richmond, N.H. and Michael Joslyn and his wife, Melissa McCrea, of Brunswick. He also leaves six grandchildren, Nicole, Andrew and Joshua Boncal, Richard Vasquez and Michael and Jeffrey Joslyn; as well as his sister-in-law, Wendy Joslyn of West Swanzey, N.H.; and his nephew, Lawrence Joslyn.
He was the father of the late Theresa Lynn, who died Jan. 7, 1966; and the brother of the late Kenneth Joslyn.
