BRUNSWICK — The Theater Project will present several seasonal offerings in  including “Holiday Tales,” running Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 18, 19 and 20, and “Wales and Tales,” onstage Monday, Dec. 21. All performances are at 7 p.m. at 114 School St.

Both “Holiday Tales” and “Wales and Tales” are a collection of seasonal short scenes, stories and music appropriate for the whole family. “Holiday Tales” will feature selections done by actors of all ages, from third grade through high school, as well as an acting company of senior citizens, and a company of young dancers. Featured selections will include “The Elf Rebellion,” a new retelling of “The 12 Days of Christmas,” and the quietest Hallelujah chorus the public will ever see.

The centerpiece of “Wales and Tales” is Al Miller’s annual retelling of the Dylan Thomas short story “A Child’s Christmas in Wales.” This sensitive, funny and poetic piece has become an essential companion to the holidays for thousands of people, including many in mid-coast Maine who return year after year to enjoy Miller’s version. In addition to “A Child’s Christmas in Wales,” Miller will bring back a southern version of a traditional Christmas favorite … if he survives his popular re-telling of “The Mitten” — a winter tale in which a lost mitten becomes a bed-and-breakfast for a gaggle of shivering animals, large and small.

Tickets for these performances are available online at: theaterproject.com, or by calling the box office at 729-8584. The Theater Project is located at 14 School St., Brunswick. Proceeds from the “Wales and Tales” performance will benefit the Mid-Coast Hunger Prevention Program. Food donations will also be collected.

Also at The Theater Project at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 24, Phyllis Fuchs and Miller will offer their annual holiday storytelling for families. Fuchs is the former children’s librarian in Brunswick. The program is especially appropriate for small children, parents and grandparents. Admission is free and audience members are encouraged to bring a donation for Midcoast Hunger Prevention Program.
