CARTHAGE — Residents approved a $381,052 municipal budget at the annual town meeting Monday evening, Town Clerk Linda Berry said Wednesday morning.

Berry said all articles were approved and all officers re-elected.

Residents authorized the board to accept about 60 acres from Wanda J. Robinson for public recreation. Selectman Stephen Brown said the land is on the southwest side of the discontinued county road leading from Berry Mills, over Winter Hill and Tainer Hill to East Dixfield. He said it would be known as the Richard W. Robinson Park.

Voters also approved raising and appropriating $100,000 to pay off the firetruck loan.

Brown said the 2015-16 budget will lower the property tax rate from $18 per thousand dollars of assessed valuation to $15.
