LEWISTON — Two Central Maine Medical Center care providers have been recognized by the organization for providing compassionate and exceptional care.

Certified registered nurse anesthetist Tina Moring of Sabattus was recognized with the DAISY Award. Certified nurse assistant Patti Desrosiers of Auburn was the recipient of the Sunshine Award.

“She picked up my hand with hers and held it and then looked at me and asked me if I was scared or nervous, and that’s when I could feel the compassion roll off of her and onto me. Now that is nursing, and this is going above and beyond,” wrote the person who nominated Moring for the DAISY Award.

A graduate of the University of New England in Portland, Moring has wide-ranging nursing experience. In addition to her present role as a certified registered nurse anesthetist, she has worked in the medical-surgical and intensive care practice settings.

“Patti (Desrosiers) was very compassionate with my dad. Her smile has brightened his day. She has interacted with our family and has shown a great deal of kindness. Patti’s gentle approach to her patients/families provides a significant contribution to their recovery,” wrote a patient’s family member.

Desrosiers has worked at Central Maine Medical Center for nearly 20 years. Her experience includes work in both pediatric and maternity/baby care. She presently works in an acute nursing care setting and is hoping to earn a registered nursing degree.
