Santa to visit Rumford Fire Station
RUMFORD — Despite the postponement of this year’s Christmas in the Valley parade, Santa is still going to make his annual trip to the Rumford Fire Station.
Fire Chief Robert Chase said the Rumford Firemen’s Relief Association will host Santa’s visit at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, with Local No. 1601 providing cocoa and cookies to children.
During their visit, children may look at the fire equipment.
Turner Christmas program Dec. 19
TURNER — Turner Seventh Day Adventist Church will hold its Christmas program at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at 106 Weston Road.
There will be a program with hymns sung by individuals and the congregation.

Christmas Eve service in Mexico
MEXICO — A traditional Christmas Eve service will be held at 11 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, at the Mexico Congregational Church UCC, the “Green Church,” 163 Main St.
Everyone is invited to attend this service of readings, carols, communion, special music and candle-lighting.
The service ends at midnight with the worshippers holding their lighted candles around the darkened sanctuary, singing “Silent Night.”

INDUSTRY — Shorey Chapel will hold a Christmas Eve service of carols and scripture at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, at 1109 Industry Road.

LOCKE MILLS — Locke Mills Union Church will hold a Christmas Eve Service at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24.
Community Christmas dinner planned
LIVERMORE FALLS — The free Community Christmas Dinner will be held again this year on Christmas Day. It will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 25, at the American Legion Hall on Reynolds Avenue.
Volunteers are needed to bake and work.
This dinner is supported by the Tri-Town Ministers, and excess donations will be given to the Food Bank.
This is the dinner’s 15th year, and the two people who have been responsible are looking for someone who would be willing to take over in 2016.

Christmas lunch in Oxford
OXFORD — Grace Fellowship Church will host its second annual Christmas lunch from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 25, at 29 Poplar St.
The public is welcome, and there is no charge. The lunch will include turkey, ham and all the side dishes.

Ballroom dancing class registration open
RANGELEY — The Rangeley Friends of the Arts will sponsor ballroom dancing classes in January and February.
These classes are aimed at beginners who would like to learn to dance and will focus on the waltz and foxtrot. The Instructor is Valerie Zapolsky, a life-long dancer, with the help of her dancing partner, Jeff.
Classes will meet from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturdays, Jan. 9 to Feb. 13, at the RFA Lakeside Theater at 2493 Main St.
The cost or the six-week session is $45 for a single and $70 for a couple. Payment will be at the first class. There is no cost for students in grades nine to 12, and as this is a class for beginners, young people are encouraged to attend.

OXFORD — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Dec. 11 for a 7-table Howell movement.
Finishing first in flight A N/S were Norma and Rick Verrill, who also were first in flight B; second in A were Mike Quinn and Mike True; third were Diana and Jim Fallon, who were second in flight B and first in flight C; fourth in A were Pat Quinn and Dick Allen; third in B were Milt McKeen Jr. and Jim Krainin, who were second in flight C.
Finishing first in flight A E/W were Marta Clements and Luke Merry; second were Neenie Kivus and David Lock; third were Cathy Sanderson and Claire Lyons, who also were first in flight B; third in A were Elaine Dresser and Arlen Riis, who also were second in flights B and C; fourth in A were B.J. and Steve Cavicchi, who also were third in B and C; and fourth in B and C were Carol Curran and Denny Raymond.
Next Friday there will be another game, same place and time, it is also the club’s annual Christmas Party, all bridge players are cordially invited.
A partner is always guaranteed. Games are played at 9:15 a.m. Fridays at the recreation building on King Street.
The Christmas party and next game will be played Dec. 18. The following two Fridays there will not be any games due to the holidays. Games will resume Jan. 8, 2016.
