1933 – 2015

LEWISTON — Carmen C. Palardy, 82, of Chestnut Place on Lisbon Street, died peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 12, at d’Youville Pavilion, with her niece, Brenda, at her side.

She was born in St. Francis on May 12, 1933, a daughter of Louis Carbonneau and Celina Tibodeau Driscoll. On May 12, 1951, she married Gill Palardy, who predeceased her on Sept. 30, 2006. Her husband, Gill, was born in St. Edward’s, Canada, on July 10, 1927, to Louis and Beatrice (Labbe) Palardy. Gill was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy. At the time of his death in 2006, he left behind his wife, Carmen, of Lewiston; his son, Tyson and his wife, Darla, of New Hampshire; and a sister, Jeanne Larochelle of Sabattus.

Carmen graduated from Lewiston High School and from the Pelletier Beauty School. She and Gill owned and operated Palardy Hairstyling on Court Street in Auburn from 1958 until 1983.

Among her favorite enjoyments were traveling with her friends and vacationing in the Caribbean Islands. She also enjoyed going out to eat with her friends on birthdays or special occasions.

She was a member of the Franco-American War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary and also a member of the ACME Snowshoe Team. She was a loving and caring person who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She leaves behind her son, Tyson Palardy, his wife, Darla, and grandson, Mark Veshio, all of New Hampshire; two sisters, Carolyn Binette and husband, Leo, of Auburn and Maxine Tibodeau of Texas; one brother, Albert Carbonneau and wife, Rose, of Poland; and 15 nieces and nephews.

Carmen was predeceased by her parents; a daughter, Debbie; and three sons, Tyson, Lane and Paul.
