Most people dress in dark clothing during the winter, making it difficult for drivers to see them.
Here are a couple tips that could save a person’s life:
• Sidewalk or no sidewalk — always walk facing traffic;
• Wear a vest similar to what Public Works people wear or carry a flashlight or some other device that glows.
Those are rules that I was told by my mother.
Again, face traffic, make sure you have a light and can be seen, and stay alert in case you have to jump out of a vehicle’s way.
Paying attention to those rules can save a life. I know that for a fact because they did for me, more than once.
Be smart and stay safe.
