1934 – 2015

AUBURN — Jacqueline C. Drapeau, 81, of 858 South Main St., Auburn, passed away on Monday, Dec. 21, at the Hospice House in Auburn.

She was born in Lewiston on Oct. 25, 1934, the daughter of William G. and Maria Pomerleau Martel. She was educated in local schools. Jacqueline worked in local shoe shops for 12 years and then worked for Pioneer Plastics for many years as a samples clerk, retiring in 1997. On Nov. 28, 1963, she married Ronald Drapeau.

She will be remembered for her beautiful singing voice, singing in the choir at Holy Cross Church while growing up and for many years in the choir of St. Louis Church. She also had a green thumb and will be missed for her cooking, especially her fudge and famous potato salad. Jacqueline was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ron of Auburn; two daughters, Celeste Drapeau of Auburn, and Monique and husband, Bruce Eldridge, of Palermo; two brothers, Paul and wife, Joline Martel, of Lewiston, and William Martel Jr. of Lewiston; two sisters, Georgette Mathieu of Sabattus, and Michelle and husband, Conrad Robitaille, of Lewiston; a sister-in-law, Joanne Dufresne of Laconia, N.H.; three grandchildren, Jennifer Laflamme and partner, Scott Corriveau, Chelsea Laflamme and partner, Glen Perry, and Kimberly Laflamme; two great-grandchildren, Brayden Corriveau and Savannah Perry; and a great-granddaughter, Corriveau on the way.

She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Martel; and two sisters, Monique and Pearl Martel.
