NEW SHARON — A celebration of the life of William R. “Butch” McCormick Jr. was held on Saturday, Dec. 19, at 10 a. m., from the New Sharon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Karen Garcia officiating.

The Rev. Garcia offered opening words and a greeting to the congregation. The opening hymn was “How Great Thou Art” followed by a prayer and the Old Testament reading of Psalm 8; Psalm 23 was read in unison by the congregation followed by New Testament readings of Matthew 6:25-34 and Mark 4:3-9. “In the Garden” was the next hymn followed by a message of hope and comfort and a time of remembrance. The Rev. Garcia offered the Lord’s Prayer which was read in unison and the hymn “Stand By Me” was followed by the committal service and dismissal.

Private family interment was held at Fairview Cemetery in Farmington and a reception at the Farmington BPOE Lodge. Cremation and celebration services were cared for and provided by the Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington.
