1918 – 2015
MOUNT VERNON — Lucille M. Wells, 97, a former resident of North Monmouth, passed away on Tuesday evening, Dec. 22, at her daughter’s home in Mount Vernon.
She was born Nov. 3, 1918, the daughter of Clifford and Glennie (Smith) Tucker. She attended school at Kents Hill Academy in Readfield. On March 23, 1935, she married Osborne H. Wells in Mount Vernon. Lucille enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens and hummingbirds. She was a member of the North Monmouth Community Church.
She is survived by her three daughters, Maxine Stevens of Leeds, Eleanor Brennan of Mount Vernon and Norma Wells of Augusta; three sons, Lawrence Wells and his wife, Faye, of Virginia, Arthur Wells and his companion, Kathy Bouchard, of Winthrop, Kenneth Wells and his companion, Christine Fischer, of Monmouth; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Flora Varney of Chesterville; and daughter-in-law, Joan Wells of Greene.
She was predeceased by her husband, Osborne, in 1999; her son, Linwood Wells; granddaughter, Donna Wells; brother, John Tucker; sisters, Angenette Murphy and Irene Thompson.
