AUBURN — Richard Mark Farrar, 68, of Rumford, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, at the Hospice House in Auburn after a short illness.
He was born in Rumford. Richard was a son of Richard H. and Phyllis (Rix) Farrar. He was a graduate of Stephens High School, Class of 1965. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a postal carrier for the city of Lewiston for more than 24 years.
Richard was a member of the Napoleon Ouellette Post No. 24, American Legion and was an avid science-fiction reader.
He was married in Mexico on Oct. 24, 1970, to Christine Serafin who survives of Rumford. Other survivors include a son, Rick Farrar of Biddeford; a sister, Elaine Turgeon and her husband, Robert, of Manchester, N.H.; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Farrar of Greenbrier, Tenn.
He was predeceased by a baby girl, Marcy Lynn; a brother, Raymond Farrar; and his parents.
