AUBURN — The YMCA of Auburn-Lewiston has announced its January programs for children and adults. All programs take place at 62 Turner St. with the exception of gymnastics.

Skills and Drills Basketball: The pre-K and kindergarten basketball program returns Jan. 4 through Feb. 10. Registration is now open. Sessions are 4:15-5 p.m., Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Cost: $30 for members; $50 for non-members.

Total Body Conditioning: This intermediate-level class is great for exercisers who aren’t quite ready for higher intensity classes such as Group Power and Boot Camp. Coming Jan. 4.

Tai Chi: New group exercise class from noon-1 p.m. Thursdays starting Jan. 7, with instructor Ruben Cornelius. Participants will clear and sharpen their minds through breath, balance and body awareness.

Women on Weights: For the novice and intermediate exerciser, this class teaches nutrition, lifting mechanics and how to build an effective workout. From 10-11 a.m. Fridays beginning Jan. 8 through Feb. 26. Registration is required. Cost: $35 for members, $50 for non-members.

Weigh to Go: The YMCA’s supportive weight management program returns. Registration now open. Sessions are from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, from Jan. 6­ through Feb. 24.

Group Power Release: Celebrate 10 years of Group Power at the Y with the January release of “#letsmove.” The complete class schedule is available at www.alymca.org. Classes are free to members and $8 for adult non-members.

Gymnastics: For children ages 3½ through teens. Registration now open; session starts Tuesday, Jan. 5.

Watercolors with Debra Trafton: Open to adults and kids. From 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Jan. 9. All supplies provided. $15 for members; $20 for non-members.

Cross Country Skiing: For youth ages 4­­-13. All ability levels are welcome. Registration is now open. Program runs Jan. 3 through Feb. 14.

Youth Swim Lessons: This seven week session is for infants through 12 years. Multiple class times are available. Registration is now open; session begins Jan. 4.

Homeschool Exercise: Homeschooling families can stay active while making new friends. For ages 4-15. Mondays and Wednesdays, Jan. 4 through Feb. 24.

Lunch and Learn: “Taxes and You” with Philip Doucette, CPA. A $5 registration fee is required, which will include lunch. 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19.

Pre-registration is required for most events and programs. Some fees apply and financial assistance is available for qualifying individuals and families.
