1928 – 2015
AUBURN — Donald E. Harradon, 87, a resident of Auburn and a former resident of South Monmouth, passed away on Friday, Dec. 25, at d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston.
He was born in Auburn on June 10, 1928, the son of Merle S. and Esma Harnden Harradon. Don attended Monmouth schools.
On May 27, 1950, in Westbrook, Don and Ruth L. Keene were married. He worked as a truck driver for Hood, hauling milk, and later went to work for Lee Auto Sales in Auburn for 30 years, retiring in 1985.
He enjoyed camping in Rangeley, and also with friends in Vermont and New York. Don loved his motorcycle, and he and Ruth took many trips out of state on his motorcycle. He was a member of the Monmouth Snowmobile Club.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth L. Harradon of Auburn; three daughters and their spouses, Barbara and Richard Wardwell of Litchfield, Patti and Bruce Skidgell of Monmouth and Sharon and Dana Cloutier of Mechanic Falls; two sons, Thomas Harradon of San Antonio, Texas, and James Harradon of Bangor; several grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents; his daughter, Louise Sanborn; and four brothers, Merlton Harradon, twins, Bernard and Vernard Hewey and Frank Harradon.
