AUBURN — Mariah Vaillancourt and Abby Roy each had a goal and an assist in the Edward Little/Leavitt/Poland Red Hornets’ 2-1 victory over Winslow/Erskine Academy in girls’ hockey action.
Vaillancourt opened the scoring 13:45 into the first period, while Roy’s goal made it 2-0 Red Hornets (5-4-2) 5:38 into the second period. Brianna Doucette also had an assist on Roy’s goal.
Paige Veilleux put Winslow (1-7-0) on the board with 7:06 remaining in the period, with Miranda Gagne adding the assist.
Kiana Richards was outstanding for Winslow in goal as she saw 30-plus shots and only allowed two goals. Sarah Hammond picked up the win in the Red Hornet’s net.
St. Dom’s 7, Mt. Ararat/Morse 0
AUBURN — Avery Lutraykowski had two goals to lead the St. Dominic Academy Saints to the 7-0 victory over the Mt. Ararat/Morse Eagles.
The win improves the Saints to 6-0 while the Eagles drop to 1-10 on the season.
Bugsy Hammerton, Dasha Fons, Kristina Cornelio, Alexa Kesaris each had a goal and assist. Madison Samson alo had a goal. Tia Rotolico dished out three assists, while Emma Theriault and Isabelle Frenette each had a pair of helpers.
