1930 – 2015
FARMINGTON —Betty Arlene McCully Hill, 85, passed away following a short illness on Saturday, Dec. 26, at her home in Farmington, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on Aug. 27, 1930, in Farmington, the daughter of Clyde and Nathalie (Avery) McCully. Betty resided in Farmington all of her life and graduated from Farmington High School, Class of 1950. On Feb. 23, 1951, she married Reino John Hill in Farmington. He predeceased her on April 10, 2003.
Betty worked as a stitcher at Farmington Shoe Co. for eight years and then at Bass Shoe Co. in Wilton for 20 years. She assisted her daughter, Shirley, in her businesses. Betty was a member of the neighbor extension group in Farmington, the Thursday night eat-out group, and the brain injury association of Maine — where she was her son Robbie’s best advocate. She enjoyed going to the University of Maine at Farmington’s fitness center.
She is survived by her son, Robert Hill of Saco; her daughter, Shirley Bourgault of Farmington; her brother, Robert McCully of New Sharon; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
