I spent a fair amount of time going door to door in Lewiston recently and was astounded to see how many houses do not have visible street numbers.

It often took a few minutes to find the street number or to make an educated guess based on the numbers of the surrounding homes.

People who call for emergency service do not want an ambulance or a police car spending valuable seconds or minutes trying to find them.

People should do themselves a huge favor and buy numbers that can be easily seen from 50 feet away and put them on their houses. That action might save a life.
