DIXFIELD — Dirigo rebounded from a tough third quarter, rallied in the fourth and pulled away in overtime to swipe a 52-46 win from Carrabec in MVC girls’ basketball action Saturday.

Lauren Henderson led the way for the Cougars with 18 points, while Emma Lueders was an assist and a rebound shy of a triple-double, finishing with 12 points, nine assists and nine rebounds.

Sabrina Daoud added 11 for the Cougars (5-3).

Mickayla Ouellette paced the Cobras (4-4) with 16 points, while Bailey Dunphy added 12.

Mountain Valley 60, Telstar 17

RUMFORD — Sydney Petrie scored 17 points to lead Mountain Valley to a 60-17 win over Telstar in MVC girls’ basketball on Saturday.

Karen Flaherty added 14 points, including four 3-pointers for the Falcons (8-1). Hayley Peterson led the Rebels (0-9) with six points.

Mountain Valley built an 11-5 lead and then blew the game open with a 28-0 second quarter.

Rangeley 84, Seacoast Christian 2

AUBURN — Rangeley scored 41 points in the first quarter and overwhelmed Seacoast Christian in an 84-2 win Saturday at Central Maine Community College.

Rangeley (7-1) blanked Seacoast (0-6) the entire first half and led at the break, 54-0. Seacoast didn’t score until a Kaylee Downs basket in the third quarter.

Blayke Morin led the Lakers with 19 points. Amelia McMillan had 16 points, 15 rebounds and seven steals. Natasha Haley contributed 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Sydney Royce added 13 points and seven steals.

Hall-Dale 38, Oak Hill 32

WALES — Dani and Thea Sweet combined for 18 points as Hall-Dale overcame a slow start with a big second quarter en route to a 38-32 MVC girls’ basketball win over Oak Hill on Saturday.

Dani Sweet led all players with 10 points while Thea had eight for the Bulldogs (3-6). Grace Sabine led the Raiders (5-4) with eight points, while Sara Noel chipped in seven, including a trey.

Edward Little 55, Noble 25

BERWICK — Karli Stubbs drained 19 points — including two 3-pointers — to pace Edward Little to a 55-25 girls’ basketball win over Noble on Saturday.

Emily Jacques added 13 points for Edward Little (7-1), and Piper Norcross hit three 3-pointers and amassed 12 points.

Madison 50, Lisbon 31

LISBON — Madison pulled away early, behind 12 points from Kayla Bess, and turned away Lisbon, 50-31, in an MVC girls’ basketball game Saturday.

Sydney LeBlanc chipped in nine points for the Bulldogs (7-2). Valerie Doucette paced the Greyhounds (4-5) with seven points. Kipri Steele added six.

Mt. Abram 46, Winthrop 34

SALEM — The Ross sisters, Alora and Summer, combined for half Mt. Abram’s points in a 46-34 MVC girls’basketball victory over Winthrop.

Alora Ross finished the game with 12 points, while Summer Ross dropped in 11 for the Roadrunners (2-7). Adlin Chaparin led all scorers with 14 points for the Ramblers (0-8).

Boothbay 76, St. Dom’s 23

AUBURN — Page Brown and Faith Blethen put on a scoring show with 24 points apiece as Boothbay dispersed St. Dom’s 76-23 in girls’ basketball action Saturday afternoon.

The Seahawks (9-0) posted 24 points in the first quarter, and did not relent. Blethen made 10 field goals, including four from 3-point range.

Allie Veinote made three field goals from beyond the arc to provide a team-leading nine points for St. Dom’s in the losing effort.

Oxford Hills 48, Bonny Eagle 40

BUXTON — Erin Morton tabulated a game-high 18 points to lead Oxford Hills to a 48-40 victory over Bonny Eagle in girls’ basketball action Saturday afternoon.

Though the Vikings trailed 19-16 at the half, the offense posted a disciplined 16 points in each of the next two frames. Jayden Colby put 14 points on the board with 10 from the free throw line for Oxford Hills.

MacKenzie Emery posted a team-leading 10 points with six from the free throw line for the Scots. Bethany Ashley helped out with eight points, while Cassidy emery added another seven for Bonny Eagle in the losing effort.

Greely 67, Poland 46

CUMBERLAND — Anna DeWolfe tossed an impressive 25 points to lead Greely to a comfortable 67-46 victory over Poland in girls’ basketball action Saturday afternoon.

The Rangers (5-2) jumped out to a 23-9 led in the first quarter, while closing the first half with a 39-15 margin. Moira Train provided Greely with 12 points.

Sarah Bolduc led all Knights (3-5) players with 11 points. Jessica Seeley put together 10 points on three field goals and four free throws for Poland in the losing effort.

Fryeburg 50, Leavitt 28

FRYEBURG — Senior forward Alexis L’Heureux-Carland and senior guard Julia Quinn netted a shared game-high 16 points to power Fryeburg to a 50-28 victory over Leavitt in girls’ basketball action Saturday.

The Raiders (6-1) put 14 points on the board in each of the first and fourth quarters while the defense managed to prevent much scoring from the opponent.

Sophomore foward Rebecca Fogg posted a team-high seven points, while Sophia Gilbert and Chantel Eells kicked in six points each in the losing effort.

Boys’ basketball

Madison 51, Lisbon 40

LISBON — Ty Greene led all players with 15 points, including one 3-pointer, to lead Madison to a 51-40 win over Lisbon in MVC basketball action Saturday.

The Bulldogs’ Mitch Jarvais added 10 in the win, in which Madison (7-2) pulled away in the second half.

Tyrese Joseph led the Greyhounds (4-5) with 12 points. Jonah Sautter hit a pair of 3-pointers.

Greely 85, Poland 56

POLAND — Jordan Bagshaw poured in 25 points — including five shots from beyond the arc — to pace Greely to a big 85-56 win over Poland in Class B South boys’ basketball action.

Ryan Twitchell added 15 for the Rangers (7-1), who opened the game on a 24-9 run and never looked back.

John Fossett led the Knights (4-4) with 17 points, while Patrick Kuklinski added 11.

Winthrop 76, Mt. Abram 42

SALEM — Jacob Hickey had 22 points, including four 3-pointers, in the Winthrop Ramblers’ 76-42 MVC boys’ basketball victory over the Mt. Abram Roadrunners.

Anthony Owens chipped in with 14 points. Garrett Tsouprake had 11 for Winthrop (7-1). Dan Luce paced the Roadrunners (1-8) with 13 points.

Edward Little 56, Noble 45

AUBURN — Samatar Iman had 31 points and 10 rebounds for Edward Little in a 56-45 boys’ basketball win on Saturday over Noble.

Jarod Norcross Plourde added 16 points for EL (3-5). Tyler Morin spread the ball around with seven assists.

Colby Studt led Noble (0-8) with 16 points. Brandon Davis chipped in 11.

Seacoast Christian 58, Rangeley 43

AUBURN — Tim Yeaton poured in 24 points as Seacoast Christian coasted to a 58-43 victory over Rangeley in boys’ basketball action Saturday afternoon.

The Crusaders (3-2) drove some distance in the second quarter with a 19-7 run. Caleb LaCrouix contributed 10 points for Seacoast.

The Lakers (3-5) played even in the second half, matching their opponent in each quarter. Junior guard Carl Trafton led Rangeley with 14 points in the losing effort.

Oxford Hills 56, Bonny Eagle 34

PARIS — Senior forward Andrew Fleming collected a game-high 26 points and hauled in 10 rebounds as Oxford Hills dispatched Bonny Eagle 56-34 in boys’ basketball action Saturday afternoon.

The Vikings (7-1) went on a 24-1 tear to start the game. Freshman forward Matt Fleming made five field goals from three-point range to contributed 15 points for Oxford Hills.

Senior center Ben Autry paced the Scots (1-7) with seven points, while Isiah Peters pitched in with six points in thel osing effort.

Dirigo 76, Carrabec 38

DIXFIELD — Riley Robinson drained 27 points to lead Dirigo to a doubling up of Carrabec, 76-38, in boys’ basketball action Saturday afternoon.

The Cougars (8-0) picked up the pace in a 20-3 second quarter, and kept the pressure on throughout.

Clay Swett provided a stong offensive showing with 21 points for Dirigo.

The Cobras (2-6) managed to recover from an 11-point showing in the first half by scoring 27 points in the second dispite suffering the loss.

Fryeburg 61, Leavitt 48

TURNER — Oscar Sanders recorded a game-high 18 points to lead Fryeburg to a 61-48 victory over Leavitt in boys’ basketball action Saturday.

The Raiders (2-6) took a 34-17 lead at the half before slowing the pace in the second. Ben Darling recorded three field goals from beyond the arc to contribute nine points for Fryeburg.

Jack Sylvester and D’Andre James tallied 12 points each to keep the Hornets (0-8) competitive in the second half. Maxwell Green chipped in with 10 points, including two three-pointers for leavitt in the losing effort.

Boys’ hockey

Edward Little 4, Gorham 1

AUBURN — Ben Steele assisted on three Edward Little Red Eddies goals in a 4-1 victory over the Gorham Rams in a boys’ hockey game at Norway Savings Bank Arena.

The Red Eddies (5-3) jumped out to the 4-0 lead with a pair goals in the first period from Max Giard and Alex Landry. Steele assisted on Giard’s goal, while Giard set up Landry’s goal along with Matt Verrill. Colby Bilodeau scored a power play marker in the second, with Steele adding his second helper.

Liam Benson scored in the third.

Carl Bear broke up Devin Dumont’s shotout bid with 12 seconds remaining in the game. Dumont made 16 saves for EL, while counterpart Noah Bird made 30 saves for Gorham.

Cony/Hall-Dale/Monmouth 2, Windham-Westbrook 1

GORHAM — The Cony/Hall-Dale/Monmouth Rams (5-3) came from behind with two goals in the third period to knock off previously unbeaten Windham-Westbrook 2-1.

Brett Sproul tied the game off a feed from Tyler Sproul just past the six minute mark of the third period. Cole Lockhart scored the game-winner with 2:27 remaining in the game.

Zack Callahan potted the only goal for Windham-Westbrook (5-1) 36 seconds into the contest.

Girls’ hockey

Leavitt/EL/Poland 10, Yarmouth/Freeport/Gray-NG 1

NORTH YARMOUTH — Sophomore center Saige Arsenault notched a hat trick and tallied three assists to lead Leavitt-Edward Little-Poland to a 10-1 triumph over Yarmouth-Freeport-Gray New Gloucester in girls’ ice hockey action Saturday.

The Red Hornets (7-4-2) scored four goals in each of the first two periods. Junior forward Haley Frohlich also recorded a hat trick to go with a pair of assists for Leavitt-Edward Little-Poland

Colleen Sullivan scored the lone goal for the Clippers.

Goalie Miranda O’Shea made 16 saves for Yarmouth-Freeport-Gray New Gloucester. Sarah Hammond and Kristen Jordan shared keeper duties for the Red Hornets, and made 12 saves between in the winning effort.
