SALEM — Mt. Abram held off a late-game rally by Mountain Valley to post a 50-46 victory on Tuesday.

After a slow start by both squads, the Roadrunners (2-7) lit the boards for 17 points in the third frame. Dan Luce led the effort with 21 points, while Trevor Chaput chipped in with 10.

The Falcons (1-8) were paced by Cam Godbois with a solid 11-point effort, while Curtis Steele added 10.

Lisbon 47, Telstar 38

LISBON — Sophomore guard Jonah Sautter scored a game-high 11 points to lead Lisbon to a 47-38 victory over Telstar in boys’ basketball action Tuesday.

The Greyhounds (5-5) were trailing 27-16 at the half, but Lisbon raillied in the second half for 31 points. Josh Huston contributed 10 points for Lisbon.

Avry Griffin recorded four field goals, including a 3-pointer, and a free throw for 10 points for the Rebels (3-8) in the losing effort.

Oxford Hills 59, Bangor 53

BANGOR — Senior center Andrew Fleming hit for an impressive 32 points to lead Oxford Hills to a 59-53 victory over Bangor in boys’ basketball action Tuesday evening.

The Vikings (8-1) trailed 30-27 at the half, but Fleming posted 13 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter to give Oxford Hills the push it needed down the stretch.

Matt Fleming contributed 11 points on three field goals, including two from three-point range and three free throws for Oxford Hills.

Senior forward Justin Smith recorded a team-leading 20 points for the Rams (2-7).

Rangeley 44, GPC 34

RANGELEY — Junior guard Carl Trafton and sophomore forward Kyle LaRochelle provided 13 points apiece as Rangeley sailed to a 44-34 victory over Greater Portland Chrstiain in boys’ basketball action Tuesday afternoon.

The Lakers (4-5) held the Lions (4-5) to just five points in the fourth quarter, creating some distance down the stretch.

Senior guard David Davol and sophomore center Mason Jones posted 10 points each, while Ricky Thompson had nine points and 10 rebounds for Greater Portland Christian.

Boothbay 84, Oak Hill 22

BOOTHBAY — Jacob Leonard and Abel Bryer each scored 13 points and Eli Goudroe added 11 as Boothbay (8-2) rolled over Oak Hill 84-22 in a boys’ basketball game Tuesday evening.

Bryer pulled down nine rebounds for the Seahawks.

By halftime, Boothbay led 35-14 and piled up another 26 points in the third quarter.

Girls’ basketball

Fryeburg 36, Gray-NG 33

GRAY — Senior guard Julia Quinn drained five of her game-high 11 points in the pivotal third quarter to lead Fryeburg to a 36-33 triumph over Gray-New Gloucester in girls’ basketball action Tuesday.

The Raiders turned a one-point halftime deficit into an eight point lead at the end of three. Junior guard MacKenzie Buzzell contributed seven points for Fryeburg.

Junior guard Isabelle DeTroy netted two field goals and six from the free throw line to provide a team-leading 10 points for the Patriots in the losing effort.

Rangeley 72, GPC 29

RANGELEY — Blayke Morin scored 24 points and was credited with four steals and six assists, leading Rangeley to a 72-29 victory over Greater Portland Christain (5-3) in a girls’ basketball game Tuesday.

The Lakers (8-1) built a hefty 43-12 lead by halftime. Sydney Royce scored 16 points and Brooke Egan had four steals.

For GPC, Clarissa Jones scored 16 points.

Monmouth 79, St. Dom’s 30

AUBURN — After sprinting out to a 12-point advantage in the first quarter, Monmouth never eased off the gas and raced away to post a 79-30 rout over St. Dom’s in a mid-season Class A South girls’ basketball tilt Tuesday.

Tia Day and Sidney Wilson led the Mustangs (8-1) with 19 points each, while Julia Johnson tallied 15 and Abbey Allen added 11 in a well-balanced attack.

Chloe Dwinell paced the Saints (4-5) with a solid nine-point effort, while Caroline Gastonguay chipped in with seven and Allie Veinote added six.

Hall-Dale 40, Winthrop 35

FARMINGDALE — Kayla Johnson netted 13 points, pulled down 14 rebounds and blocked a pair 0f shots to lead Hall-Dale to a 40-35 victory over Winthrop in mid-season girls’ basketball action.

Thea Sweet and Dani Sweet each chipped in for the Bulldogs (4-6) with eight points in an effective three-player attack.

The Ramblers (0-9) were led by Adlin Chaparin with a 12-point performance, while She Smith tallied nine and Bri McClure added eight.

Gardiner 57, Leavitt 50

GARDINER — After a tight first half that saw just a three-point spread, Gardiner outgunned its opponent by four points to squeak out a 57-50 win over Leavitt in a mid-season Class A South girls’ matchup Tuesday.

Mary Toman led the Bulldogs (7-1) with 18 points, while Leslie Stevens tallied 15 and Lauren Chadwick added 11.

The Hornets (3-6) were paced by Liz Goulette with a solid 13-point effort, while Allie Belaire tallied 12 and Sophia Gilbert added 10.
