1952 – 2016
LEWISTON — Fernand P. Chasse, 63, of Mechanic Falls, died late afternoon on Monday, Jan. 4, at d’Youville Pavilion.
He was born in Lewiston, Nov. 27, 1952, a son of Emile J. and Juliette (Lessard) Chasse. Fern was educated in local schools, graduated from St. Dom’s and remained a lifelong resident of the Mechanic Falls community.
He worked at Pioneer Plastics for 40 years, until his retirement due to illness. Among his favorite enjoyments were riding motorcycles, kayaking and spending time on the water. Fern was a very giving individual who was always there to help family and friends any way he could. He always liked all of the special family times, get-togethers and family holidays, but he particularly enjoyed the Halloween holiday every year.
He leaves behind a daughter, Sheri Smith of Lewiston; a son, Toby Smith and wife, Juanita, of Lewiston, their son, grandson, Nicholas Smith; three sisters, Lorraine Levesque and husband, George, Evelyn St. Pierre, and Monita Larue and husband, Gerard, all of Lewiston; four brothers, Marcel Chasse and wife, Connie, of Greene, Patrick Chasse and wife, Barbara, and Lucien Chasse, all of Lewiston and Emile P. Chasse and wife, Doris, of Sarasota, Fla.; many nieces and nephews; and his many friends and co-workers at Pioneer Plastics whom he enjoyed working with for so many years.
He was predeceased by his parents, Emile and Juliette Chasse; one sister, Monique Briggs; and one nephew, Michael Chasse.
