1967 – 2015
AUBURN — Julie Leahy, 48, of Auburn, passed away Thursday, Dec. 31, after a recent diagnosis of cancer. Her greatest love, Timothy Card, was by her side.
Julie will be sadly missed by Tim, friends, family, colleagues and their three cats. She was born on June 25, 1967, the daughter of Glenn and Marian (Allbaugh) Ott of Rockford, Ill. Sister to Stephanie and husband, Kevin Albrechson, of Alberta, Ga., and sister to Melanie and husband, Jeff Tackeberry, of Matthews, N.C .
Julie graduated with a master’s degree in clinical counseling from Virginia Common Wealth University. She served Maine’s most neediest by providing therapy and in-home counseling in the greater Lewiston-Auburn area. Julie had a peaceful presence and was liked and respected by all.
Julie enjoyed a summer visit by her sister, Melanie and husband and a recent visit when they brought a Christmas tree to the Hospice House to cheer her. Julie’s family visited with her during her initial diagnosis and provided daily supportive phone calls. Despite her illness, Julie had a great sense of humor, enjoyed sharing pictures of her cats and planning summer trips with Tim.
Julie was provided wonderful loving care by the Hospice House in Auburn and Dr. Wansker of Greene, Tim and Tim’s mother, Gail Marcouillier.
