LIVERMORE FALLS — Starting the new year, Treat Memorial Library will have some new programs to offer. It is hoped to start a new Lego Club; donations of any old Lego sets would be accepted. Please drop them off at the library during regular hours.
The Book Club wraps up its Magic and Mystery series on Thursday, Jan. 14, with Neil Gaiman’s “Neverwhere.” The next series will be The Art of the Memoir, beginning Thursday, Feb. 11, with Piper Kerman’s eye-opening account of her stay in a women’s prison, “Orange is the New Black.” Meeting dates for this series are March 10, April 14, May 12 and June 9. All meetings are at 3 p.m. Contact the library for a copy of the next book up for discussion.
Ongoing programs include Preschool Story Time at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays.
Those with a child of pre-kindergarten age may join the self-paced, simple to complete 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program. Reading one book a day to a child equals 1,000 books in less than three years.
Teen Writers will meet at 6 p.m. Thursdays, Jan. 7 and 21. Area teens are invited to join this inventive group.
Other continuing programs include Knit/Crochet at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26. Learn to knit or crochet, or just work on projects.
The library will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 19, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
