Deputies responded to 166 calls for service during this time period

 

1/2/2016 Lt. Rackliffe investigated a report of an abandoned vehicle on route 27 in Chain of Ponds Twp.  It was determined the owner was hiking in the snow.

 

1/2/2016 Deputy Scovil investigated a report of a driver operating his vehicle in an erratic manner on route 27 in Eustis.

1/2/2016 Deputy Scovil stopped a speeding vehicle on route 17 in Letter D Twp.  The operator had an intermediate license and had several juvenile passengers.  Parents were called, the car was towed, and the juvenile was summonsed for multiple violations.

 

1/3/2016 Deputy Zecher investigated a report of identity theft on Chesterville Hill Rd in Chesterville.

 

1/3/2016 Deputy Morgan responded to a car vs deer accident on the Weeks Mills Rd in New Sharon.  The deer died at the scene, the car sustained reportable damage.

1/3/2016 Deputy Morgan responded to Cummings Hill Rd in Temple to remove a person from a residence.

 

1/4/2016 Chief Deputy Lowell and Corporal Hartley responded to Cummings Hill Rd in Temple for a report of a domestic disturbance.  This complaint was a continuance from the previous day where former boyfriend and girlfriend had had a verbal altercation.  The case is still under investigation.

 

1/4/2016 Deputy Zecher responded to Zions Hill Rd in Chesterville for a report of a burglary.  The home owners live in Florida.  Many windows and doors have damage but there is no indication that entry was made.  Tire and foot prints were in the driveway.

1/4/2016 Corporal Hartley conducted a welfare check on Norton Rd in Chesterville to check on an elderly person who is 80 years old at the request of a person.  Everything appeared fine.

 

1/4/2016 Corporal Brann investigated a report of theft of a pickup truck on Paul Rd in Chesterville; however investigation revealed that it was not a theft but a misunderstanding between two people.

 

1/4/2016 Deputy Zecher conducted a welfare check at on the Smith Rd in Chesterville on an elderly person who is 90 years old at the request of a family member. Everything appeared fine.

1/5/2016 Corporal Brann responded to a disturbance on Locke Pond Rd in Chesterville involving a juvenile.

 

1/5/2016 Detective Ken Charles assisted Farmington PD with a serious personal injury accident on the Lucy Knowles Road in Farmington.

 

1/5/2016 Deputy Morgan was requested to assist Farmington PD with a car vs deer accident on the Farmington Falls Rd.  The deer died at the scene, the vehicle sustained reportable damage.

1/5/2016 Deputy Morgan assisted Wilton PD with power lines that had dropped onto route 142.

 

1/5/2016 Lt. Rackliffe arrested Jessica Searles (30) of Jay on a warrant after she had turned herself in at the Sheriff’s Office.

 

1/6/2016 Corporal Brann responded to a car vs. deer accident on Lake St in New Vineyard.  The deer died at the scene, the car sustained reportable damage.

1/7/2016 Lt. Rackliffe assisted jail personnel with a search of the jail.

 

1/7/2016 Deputy Morgan responded to a car vs. deer accident on the Phillips Rd in Strong.  The deer died at the scene, the car sustained reportable damage.

 

1/7/2016 Corporal Brann responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on Varnum Pond Rd in Temple. No charges were filed.

1/8/2016 Lt. Rackliffe and Deputy Scovil responded to the Carthage Rd in Carthage to assist a DHHS employee who was being denied access to children she was there to conduct a safety check on.

 

1/8/2016 Deputy Scovil responded to the Industry Rd in Industry to conduct an escort.

 

1/8/2016 Deputy Bernhardt responded to a car vs. deer accident on the Mercer Rd in New Sharon.  The deer died at the scene and the car sustained reportable damage.

1/8/2016 Corporal Bean responded to a report of a pedestrian being hit in the arm by a passing pickup truck’s side mirror. (Reported to be a black Dodge)    The complainant stated he was hit as he was walking on the Smith Rd in New Sharon.  The complainant did not require medical attention.  The driver of the pickup continued towards Cape Code Hill road then turned right towards the center of town.  The vehicle and its driver are currently being sought.

 

Deputies conducted 49 building checks during this time period and found two not secured; Deputies also conducted 5 elder checks.
