RANGELEY — Police are seeking a driver who caused $2,100 damage to the practice field at Rangeley Lakes Regional School on either Dec. 25 or Dec. 26.

Besides leaving nearly 3-inch ruts in the field, the driver’s vehicle also damaged a wheelchair ramp and railing, officer Brad Scovil said Wednesday. The tire tracks are from an all-wheel drive or four-wheel drive small vehicle, he said.

The school principal reported the damage to police on Dec. 26.

Scovil posted information and a photo taken by a student on the department’s Facebook page. Tips and leads were reported to police, but nothing has led to an arrest yet, he said.

The driver could face a felony charge of aggravated criminal mischief, Scovil said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Franklin County Regional Dispatch Center in Farmington at 778-6140 and ask to speak to a Rangeley police officer.
