New type of service offered

AUBURN — The Auburn United Methodist Church will offer a new Contemplative Service, which will include Taize music, reading of Scripture and silent prayer while surrounded by religious art and candlelight.

The service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, at 439 Park Ave.

Pilgrimage to Ireland announced

PORTLAND — The Revs. Emile Dube and Ed Clifford, priests of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland, will lead a pilgrimage to Ireland from May 31 to June 10.

The spiritual journey will include the landscapes of the Emerald Isle — Dublin, Killarney, Ring of Kerry, Galway, Belfast and the Cliffs of Moher.

Church supper set for Jan. 23

GRAY — The First Congregational Church will host a supper with baked beans, casseroles, salads and beverages at 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at Route 115.

Admission will be $8 for adults and $4 for kids under 12.

The church is wheelchair-accessible.

Sixth Street Congregational hosts supper

AUBURN — The Sixth Street Congregational Church will host a baked bean and American chop suey dinner from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at 109 Sixth St.

Cost of the meal is $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 6 to 12, and free for kids 5 and younger. The menu consists of two kinds of beans, brown bread, cole slaw, hot dogs, American chop suey, assorted desserts and beverage.

LISBON FALLS — The Methodist Women of the Lisbon United Methodist Church will sponsor a homemade baked bean and ham supper from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at the church on School Street.

Admission to the meal will be $7 for adults, $3 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for kids 5 and younger.
