RANGELEY — The Rangeley Lakes Chamber of Commerce has been awarded a Tourism Enterprise Marketing Grant by the Maine Office of Tourism.
The Tourism Enterprise Marketing Grant program was introduced by the Maine Office of Tourism in 2014. The objective is to support tourism-related projects of smaller organizations with funding that can help organizations grow and even start new initiatives.
The grant will help optimize the website for mobile devices by tourists.
“We worked very diligently on our grant proposal and are extremely pleased to have been awarded this grant,” said Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Karen A. Ogulnick. “This grant will enable us to optimize our website to function seamlessly across mobile phones, tablets, laptops and desktops, enhance search engine optimization and greatly improve the user experience for visitors considering the Rangeley region as a destination. It’s a very competitive market and we have so much to offer. Our website is often the first impression people have of the area, so we want our website to be a compelling reflection of the area itself.”
The chamber is in the initial planning stages of the project and plans to launch the new site later this year.
