FARMINGTON — Franklin County is getting a new website, Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. told county commissioners Tuesday.
Nichols’ wife, Lorna Nichols, who is also the cook supervisor at the jail, is building the site. It was 85 percent complete on Tuesday, he said.
“It is a big plus for the county,” he said.
People will have more access to news about what is going on in the county and to other information they may need. The website will also include access to arrest logs.
Department heads will be able to update the department information on the site, he said. There is a meeting Friday with all department heads, the sheriff said.
The site cost is $200 and the money will come from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department budget.
