1937 – 2016

AUBURN — Zephyr E. Bouvier, better known as “Beau,” 78, passed away on Friday, Jan. 15, at the Hospice House in Auburn.

He was born on Sept. 1, 1937, the son of the late David W. and Mae P. (Burbe) Bouvier. Zephyr was born in Dedham, Mass., and grew up in Reidville, Mass., up until the time he joined the U.S. Navy, where he served 20 years before his honorable discharge.

He worked for Bath Iron Works as a shipfitter for 25 years. Zephyr was very involved with various clubs and organizations including the VFW, American Legion, Fleet Reserve, The Gypsies, Knights of Columbus and the Sabattus Senior Citizens.

In his spare time, he enjoyed camping, fishing and puttering with woodwork. He also liked helping out his sister-in-law at her restaurant, called Daddy’s Diner, where he would cook for them and they called him the “banker” as he was their bookkeeper. He was known to keep very accurate records.

Zephyr is survived by his wife, Carol A. Bouvier of Sabattus; his two children, Brian K. Bouvier of Lewiston, and Dale E. Bouvier and his wife, Gail, of Lisbon; his sisters, Rita McGee of Medfield, Mass., and Barbara and her husband, Robert Jandreu, of Southboro, Mass.; his sister-in-law, Ellie and her husband, David Brown, of Sabattus; his two grandchildren, Timothy and Cody Bouvier; his special niece, Marie Driscoll of Massachusetts; and several other nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; and his two brothers, David and Henry Bouvier.
