PARIS — Oxford Hills/Buckfield Adult Education has announced its February classes. Here are a few of the classes offered in February:
Tuesday, Feb. 2
Fitness and Wellness — Time for Me with Dee Snow from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for 12 weeks. Tuition costs $69. Students will learn to be more active and lose weight. Losing just 7 percent of body weight can reduce high blood pressure, lower cholesterol and may prevent type II diabetes.
Lifestyle Change, a “Smart” Approach with Betty Ann Sirois from 6 to 8 p.m. for four weeks. Tuition costs $29. Students will develop individualized specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely goals for making lifestyle changes.
Social Media for Beginners with Robbie Emrich from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. for two weeks. Tuition costs $21. Students will learn the basics of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest.
Wednesday, Feb. 3
Electrical Wiring for the Home Owner with Chris Summers from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuition costs $84. The course recommends the book “House Wiring” by G.W.Fletcher, available on Amazon. Students will learn to wire a single outlet or a whole house.
Budgeting Basics from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for one evening. The program is free, registration is required. Students will discuss money tracking, goal setting and creating a budget that works for them.
Thursday, Feb. 4
Computerized Office Skills — Word processing with Eli Merrill from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuition costs $45 for four weeks. Those interested can register for all three modules, which cover spreadsheets for four weeks and advanced Microsoft Office for four weeks, for a total of $85.
