The workshop begins at 5:30 p.m. and topics include handling dangerous buildings and neighborhood revitalization. The regular meeting follows at 7 p.m. and the topics include Norway Savings Bank Arena and city debt.
TUESDAY, Jan. 26
LEWISTON — City Council workshop and special meeting in the City Council Chamber on the bottom floor of City Hall. The workshop begins at 6 p.m. and topics include on update on the Bates Mill No. 5 and applying for a federal fire safety grant. The special meeting follows the workshop and the sole item is a closed-door session to discuss competitive bargaining.
WEDNESDAY, Jan. 27
LEWISTON — Color the Night Away, open for teens and adults, Lewiston Public Library, 5 p.m. Enjoy welcoming environment of soothing music and refreshments while coloring. Color pages and pencils, markers and crayons provided.

LEWISTON — Inspirational talk by sports broadcaster Tom Caron of NESN, 6:30 p.m. for parents and community members at Lewiston Middle School. Caron is a graduate of Lewiston High School.
AUBURN — Neighborhood Conversations for Ward 1 (East Auburn Community School neighborhoods), at East Auburn school, 6 p.m. Public can hear and share ideas with school and city staff, neighbors and elected officials before the budget process begins. Other meetings Feb. 4 at Walton school; Feb. 9 at Auburn Middle School.
LEWISTON — New Beginnings recognition of Bob Rowe, who is retiring after 28 years of advocating for homeless youth, 4-6 p.m., Ann Geiger Center, 134 College St.
AUBURN — “Decorating the White House: An Insider’s Experience,” a talk by Joan Macri, former Lewiston High School history teacher, 6 to 8 p.m., Auburn Public Library. She was one of 88 volunteers who spent three days last month decorating the White House for Christmas.
