A new family?driven effort called Community Connect is being formed.
The initial Community Connect Bangor/Orono regional meeting will be held in Orono on Jan. 28 from 4:30-6 p.m. at Target Technology Center, Conference AB, 20 Godfrey Drive, Orono.
The first meeting will provide some background on what Community Connect is about and what it has to offer. It will also allow public inpuit, with the goal of sharing and discusion what matters most to local family and community members involved with supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or autism in your area. Community Connect is envisioned as an avenue for providing opportunities to partner with existing state and community resources. It wants to support efforts to develop, expand, strengthen and sustain individual, family and community resources. its goal is to improve the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities and for those that represent, support and care for them.
