JAY — Police said Suzanne Morants, 76, of Jay was found Wednesday after a motorist following Morants’ vehicle on Route 4 in Turner called Jay police.
Morants was not injured, but was lost and has been trying to find her way home, Jay Detective Michael Mejia said.
Morants had not been seen by family since Monday afternoon and was reported missing by family early Wednesday. She was said to have been previously in the early stages of dementia.
The caller was able to lead Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office deputies to Morant after she stopped at the Big Apple in Turner, Mejia said.
Other callers during the search Wednesday said they had seen Morants on Tuesday night in Rangeley.
