1928 – 2016

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. — Ralph “Buddy” Lehman, 87, of Hartford, Vt., passed away on Friday, Jan. 22, in White River Junction, Vt., surrounded by his family.

He was born in Lewiston in 1928, the son of William and Anna (Geyer) Lehman. Ralph married Nola Jordan from Lisbon Falls in 1954 and attended the University of Maine at Orono. After graduation, they moved to Hartford, Vt., where he served a 35-year career as town manager. While serving as town manager, he earned a master’s degree in environmental resource management from Antioch College in 1985.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Nola; sons, Bill Lehman of White River Junction, Vt., and Richard Lehman of Kings Beach, Calif.; daughters, Esther Lehman Blatt and husband, Eric, of Hyde Park, Vt., Shelly Smith and husband, Eric, of White River Junction, Vt., and Lisa LaFlam and husband, Rick, of Wilder, Vt.; six grandchildren; his sister, Barbara Lynn of Auburn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; and three sisters, Ruth Daigle, Esther Lehman and Evelyn Lehman.
