It is time for people to stop calling each other names. We are all neighbors.
A recent letter writer used the term “liberal” pejoratively six times in four paragraphs. We are neighbors, whether lunatic fringe, Republican, Democrat, or liberal or conservative. We each love our country and our state.
If someone believes Gov. LePage uses his leadership power irresponsibly by “joking” (such as most recently when suggesting private citizens take the law into their own hands and shoot people they believe to be drug dealers) and want to call him out on his poor behavior — that is their right.
Quoting Rodney King, “Can’t we all just get along?”
Maine is a small state and we are neighbors. We check on each other in bad weather and pull each other out of snow banks.
