ELLSWORTH — Nonprofit and public organizations seeking funding for projects that draw on the strengths of the community and foster collaboration are encouraged to apply to the Maine Community Foundation’s Community Building Grant Program.
The deadline for applying is Monday, Feb. 15. Application and guidelines are available online.
In 2015, the foundation’s county committees awarded more than $976,000 in community-building grants to nonprofit organizations across the state and more than $232,000 from donor-advised funds.
The Statewide Fund, for organizations applying for multi-county projects and organizations in Kennebec and Sagadahoc counties that do not have their own county or regional fund, awarded $160,000 in grants to 22 nonprofits.
With offices in Ellsworth and Portland, the Maine Community Foundation works with donors and other partners to improve the quality of life for all Maine people.
