BETHEL – The Mahoosuc Land Trust and Western Mountains Senior College are teaming up for a snowshoe trek from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 13, on North Road. It’s part of a Great Maine Outdoor Weekend celebration.
Land trust member Jolan Ippolito said Rick Churchill, a horticulture consultant and founder and chairman of Southern Maine Community College’s horticulture program, will lead the trek. He will share his keen observations of the winter landscape, and his ever-present sense of humor, Ippolito said.
People are welcome to bring their entire family. Hot drinks and snacks will be served after the trek.
According to its website, the Great Maine Outdoor Weekend is a series of events led by outdoor oriented organizations and companies to connect people with the natural world, promote fun, physical activity and good health.
For more information, contact Ippolito at 824-3806 or email to jolan@mahoosuc.org.
