NORWAY — Dr. Greg Hardy has been named chief medical officer at Stephens Memorial Hospital. He began his new duties on Jan. 25. Hardy will continue to practice medicine while taking on his new responsibilities.

As the chief medical officer of the Norway hospital, he has become a member of the Western Maine Health and hospital’s senior leadership team. As the senior physician, he will oversee projects and ensure they’re meaningful and the data is correct before sending a report to MaineHealth System.

Hardy, who lives in Norway, will also monitor finances, patient care, make sure quality care is championed over quantity and focus on community medicine. He will also act as the liaison between the medical staff and the rest of hospital administration.

He will also continue to serve as the site director for Maine Medical Center/Tufts University School of Medicine at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
