1932 – 2016
RUMFORD — Irene M. Sinclair, 83, formerly of Swett Avenue in Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 9, at Rumford Hospital, following a brief illness, surrounded by loving family.
She was born in Rumford on Aug. 8, 1932, a daughter of Joseph and Blanche (Boivin) Martineau. Irene was educated in Rumford schools.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She was affectionately known as Mom by many who knew her.
Irene was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior. She was a member of the Snowshoe Club, the Eagles, the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries. She loved playing bingo, cards, Yahtzee, crocheting, many trips to the casino with her granddaughters and playing games on her Kindle Fire. Irene also loved her outings to the Far East and the Covered Wagon.
She is survived by her son, Thomas B. Sinclair and wife, Sharon, of Mexico; daughter, Faye A. Tozier and husband, Mark, of Mexico; daughter, Carol J. Oliver and husband, Ken, of Wilton; daughter, Donna M. Tidswell and husband, Michael, of Rumford; son, Bruce W. Sinclair Jr. and wife, Toni, of Turner; sisters, Rita Girardin and companion, Cuffy Stewart, of Dixfield, Yvette LeBlanc and husband, Leroy, of Dixfield, Joanne Morin and husband, Dick, of Standish; brothers, Raymond Martineau of Portland, Donald Martineau of Virginia, Marcel Martineau and wife, Nila, of Rumford, Jean Martineau and wife, Rosemarie of Florida; special family friend, Nick Lambiase of New Jersey; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Irene was predeceased by her parents; husband, Bruce Sinclair Sr.; brother, Emile Martineau; sisters, Pauline Blanchard, Jeannette Knox; and special family friend, Don Smith.
