KINGFIELD — Older adults may choose from several free workshops at a mini-expo presented by SeniorsPlus from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18 at the Kingfield Elementary School. 

The Aging Well Living Well Mini-Expo: Franklin County will offer attendees a choice of three workshops, as well as the chance to hear a keynote address on living well into older age.

The three workshops that will be offered are:

Zumba Gold is a dance class fusing Latin rhythms and easy moves.

Frauds and Scams: How to Protect Yourself is a workshop on the basic rules of protecting oneself from being caught off-guard and falling victim to a current or future scam.

Healthy Cooking is a workshop offering tips on eating healthy as one ages.

The expo will begin with a breakfast keynote address by Connie Jones, community services director at SeniorsPlus. She will talk on “Aging Courageously and Outrageously: Let’s Take Aging by Storm!” Jones will acknowledge that it takes courage to age well and will share tips on how to do so.

A continental breakfast will be included, as well as snacks throughout the morning. During breaks, participants may check out exhibitors’ booths displaying information about Franklin County-area services.

The min-expo is free and open to the public, but preregistration is required. Snow date is Friday, Feb. 19.
